Awards
All contestants will receive a trophy to recognize their participation.
The top three contestants will be chosen for each age group and a winner will be crowned. The 4-5yrs age group will be escorted as they walk across the stage. The 10yrs and up will be given the microphone and will introduce themselves. They need to briefly tell their favorite tree and why they chose that tree. Then they can tell what they could do help our environment. For example: "Hi my name is Juliann Farmer and my favorite tree is the Bradford Pear tree because it is the first tree to bloom in the spring time. I would like to help our environment by keeping the river banks clean from trash and debris."
Pageant winners may be ask to represent the Johnson City Power Board in possibly three tree planting events during the next year. Parents will be required to provide transportation to and from these events for their child.
Note: If there are fewer than 2 contestants in any category, the contestants will be placed into the next age category.
